Listen up, amigos, Accolade rocks! I've waited 4 months to write a review to see how the 2009 Subaru Forester car I bought from Accolade would work out. OK, after 5 months and just finishing a trip from Portland to Wisconsin pulling a U-Haul trailer, I'm ready to testify! Great car, great people. I connected with Accolade when I flew from Madison to Portland to help out my daughter who had just totaled her VW Jetta. Needed a car quick. She wanted a Subaru. Looked at dealers but all we saw were used models priced almost as high as new ones. And buying used, who can you trust? I'm no auto expert. Found Accolade on the web. They had a few used Foresters at good prices. They specialize in repairing and selling Subarus. And it appeared that they put time and resources into making sure that the vehicles they offer are checked out, put into good shape and ready to run reliably. OK, I'll check them out. The staff from secretary to salesman to owner were friendly, knowledgeable, frank, and helpful. No hard sell, no pushing, jsut straightforward counsel. The Forester we wanted drove well, looked good, and had been serviced impeccably (at least according to the paperwork). We bought it and I headed back to Madison. My daughter then drove the car to work for the 5 months left in her job. No problems. But how would it make the trip from Portland to Wisconsin, pulling a trailer? I worried about the transmission. It rocked! Pulled great, tight steering and firm road handling. No warning lights. No funny noises. Smooth sailing even through 104 degree heat in the Columbia Gorge and some some really nasty rain and wind in South Dakota. Bottom line: Accolade sold us a great car and prepped it great. What a pleasure to deal with people who are a bright exception to the too often accurate stereotype of used car dealers as untrustworthy a-holes looking to get as much as they can for a lousy product (alas, I've been there). If you want a used car from people you can have confidence in, I have no hesitation in telling you to go to Accolade.
